The Beauty Project. {Tacoma Glamour Photography}

July 17, 2013

Everyone loves a good before and after. But this is about more than that. This is about an experience. About Glamour. As a Woman. This is about being able to see and feel that you are beautiful. Being pampered and made to look your best.  Not because great makeup and hair and clothes are what make you beautiful, no. That shines out from the inside.  From the strength you carry. From the desire and intellect and creativity and nurturing and determination. From the healing and forgiveness and wisdom and experience and grace. But being given the space to let that all come together in the outward picture, that is what this is about.

I named this project The Beauty Project because I want women to feel empowered to see their own beauty and more than that, to celebrate it. Not as a mom in a family portrait or a senior girl or a bride, but just for who you are as a woman.  Whatever shape, whatever age. You are beautiful. And often we don’t give ourselves permission to admit this or enjoy it, with the exception of special occasions. We fear it might seem vain, or too sexy. Well, I say life is a special occasion.  And I think we owe it to ourselves as women to let our light shine.  We are beautiful creatures. We were made that way and it is good.

I am looking forward to doing more of these sessions this fall, so message me if you want to be a part of this. Bring your girlfriend, your daughter, your mother.  Make it a girl’s day out. I can’t wait to see you, but I really can’t wait for you to see yourself.

I will be scheduling a mini-session in August including hair and makeup.

Thank you so much to Rosie for being a lovely (and lively) model. And lots of love to Athena for embarking on this journey with me. Fabulous hair by Kristal Locke of Baroque salon. Clothes by Annette B.
