The most perfect, intimate summer island wedding.
I first photographed the Treleven family for a special birthday gathering when all of the kids were home from far-flight places. Then again for a rare gathering of remembrance and memorial. This summer we celebrated Chloe and Naj’s sweet and intimate ceremony on the beach of her uncles stunning Vashon Island home designed by @hoedemakerpfeiffer

There are some people who just have spark about them- a joíe de vivre, passion for adventure, love of beauty and good food and art and a strong family story. Those are my favorite kind of people.

Every act of love matters. A home is built on this. A world is built on this. This is the foundation of my family storytelling sessions - to capture these acts of love for you and your children.

I’ve been working on a little something for you!

Here’s a meditation rooted in the beauty of fall and grounded in embodiment practices.

In my life, especially in midlife, I have gone through seasons of feeling disconnected from myself, my body, and from God. I have wandered liminal spaces looking for something to guide me back to myself and to a sense of God’s presence. Some of the anchors I found are contemplative practices that engage my senses, my body and creativity. To me, they feel like an expansive new path to God and I’m excited to share them with you.

As midlife women we are often caught between caring for the needs of our family, the needs of our careers and households, and sometimes even the needs of our parents. It can feel like there’s not a lot of time to attend to our own needs, and yet we know self- care is important.

I hope this short meditation can be an invitation for you to come back to yourself. Rediscover. Reconnect. I hope you can see this as spiritual self-care and give yourself this gift.
